Pokémon trade codes, per game

Some Pokémon only exist after a trade, and some editions only get half a game’s roster. From Generation 6 on, players agree on a numeric link code before trading — built from the traded Pokémon’s regional Pokédex number, a community convention rather than a game mechanic. Generations 1-5 have no link code at all.
