Pokémon Champions Roster: Every Pokémon, Mega Evolution & Held Item, Update by Update
Every Pokémon, Mega Evolution and held item legal in Pokémon Champions, the current regulation set rules, and a timeline of every update since launch.
Pokémon Champions does not hand you the whole Pokédex. Every three months a new regulation set decides which Pokémon, Mega Evolutions and held items are legal, and the answer changes every time. This page keeps the whole list in one place: what you can use right now under Regulation Set M-C, what the latest update added, how the rules differ from the main games, and a timeline of every set since launch — so when the next one lands, only the top of this page changes.

How a Champions battle is ruled
Champions is a battle simulator built for the competitive Double Battle format, with Single Battle ladders alongside it. Three things make it different from bringing a team into Scarlet and Violet. First, every Pokémon is calculated as level 50 with 31 IVs in every stat, so breeding and hunting for IVs are gone. Second, EVs are replaced by Stat Points: up to 32 per stat and 66 in total, changed at any time at the gym for VP or a Training Ticket. Third, the roster is closed — only the Pokémon on this page exist in the game, and there are no Legendary or Mythical Pokémon at all.
| Rule | In Champions |
|---|---|
| Level and IVs | Every Pokémon battles as level 50 with 31 IVs; levels are never shown |
| Held items | Every team member may hold one item, but no two may hold the same item |
| Mega Evolution | Enabled through the Omni Ring for the Pokémon in the Mega table below; only once per battle |
| Timers | 20 minutes per game in total, 7 minutes of your own thinking time, 45 seconds per turn, 90 seconds for team preview |

Timeline: every update and regulation set
Newest first. A regulation set brings the Pokémon and items; the seasons inside it bring a Battle Pass with three Mega Stones each. When the next set is announced, it becomes the first row here and the section at the top of this page.

Regulation Set M-B (17 June 2026 – 9 September 2026)
Adds 22 Pokémon and 16 Mega Evolutions — the Hoenn starters, Metagross and Gholdengo among them — plus 15 held items. The headline arrivals were Metagross with Mega Metagross, Gholdengo, Annihilape and the three Hoenn starters Sceptile, Blaziken and Swampert with their Megas. Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y also arrived here, the first Champions Megas for a Pokémon that already had a regional form in the game. Everything in the set stays legal today.
Regulation Set M-A — the launch roster (8 April 2026 – 17 June 2026)
The launch set: 186 Pokémon and 59 Mega Evolutions, all of them without Legendary or Mythical Pokémon. The launch list leaned on the Pokémon of Legends: Z-A and its new Megas — Dragonite, Meganium, Feraligatr and Emboar all Mega Evolve here — next to competitive staples such as Incineroar, Kingambit and Dragapult. No removal from the launch set has ever been announced, so a team built in April should still be legal — with one caveat: one community source lists Kingambit as absent from Regulation Set M-C while the others keep it. Confirm it in the game before building around it.
Every Pokémon you can use
All 231 species in National Pokédex order. Every form you pick before a battle is its own row, exactly as the regulation set lists them: regional forms, Rotom's five appliances, Lycanroc's three forms, Toxtricity's Amped and Low Key, the male and female Meowstic, Indeedee and Basculegion, Gourgeist's sizes and Squawkabilly's plumages. Forms that only change during a battle (Castform, Aegislash, Morpeko, Palafin) and cosmetic looks (Vivillon patterns, Furfrou trims, Alcremie flavours) are not; Vivillon and Furfrou come from the Roster Ranch in one pattern, every other look must be brought from HOME. "Since" names the regulation set that added the row, so a fresh set is easy to spot.

Every Mega Evolution and where its stone comes from
81 Mega Evolutions are legal. The Mega Evolution tutorial hands you 8 stones for free, 72 are sold in the Frontier Shop for 2,000 VP each, and Floettite only works with an Eternal Flower Floette carried over from HOME. Each season's Battle Pass adds three more stones — one free, two premium — and the timeline above says which.

Every held item
85 held items exist in the game. 10 of them are in your bag from the first battle — the ones the tutorial teams are built around — and every other item is bought in the Frontier Shop with VP: 400 VP for a Berry, 700 VP for a type booster or a situational item, 1,000 VP for the premium picks. Because no two team members may hold the same item, a full team needs six different ones.

How you get Pokémon and items
- Recruit at the Roster Ranch Every 22 hours the ranch shows a new lineup of ten random Pokémon from the current roster, and you may take one. A Trial Recruitment is free and lasts 7 days; a Permanent Recruitment costs VP or one Teammate Ticket. A new lineup before the timer runs out costs VP or a Quick Coupon, and an Affinity Ticket tilts the lineup towards one type.
- Train Stat Points at the gym Spend VP or a Training Ticket to move Stat Points between stats — 32 per stat, 66 in total. A ticket covers one session whatever it would have cost. The Champions SP calculator shows the final stats of any spread before you pay for it.
- Buy held items and Mega Stones in the Frontier Shop VP comes from every Ranked Battle, from missions and achievements, from ranking up, from the free Battle Pass tier (10,000 VP per season) and from the end-of-season payout. The shop tables above list every price.
- Or bring your own from Pokémon HOME Any Pokémon on the roster can visit Champions from HOME through the Recruit menu. Its EVs are converted to Stat Points and its moveset comes along; moves the game does not allow are flagged and must be replaced in Training before the Pokémon can join a team. Pokémon obtained in Champions cannot be sent to HOME. The transfer chart shows how to reach HOME from any older game.
Quick answers
- Which regulation set is active in Pokémon Champions right now?
- Regulation Set M-C, from 9 September 2026 to 2 December 2026. The next set starts the day it ends, and this page is updated with it.
- How many Pokémon are in Pokémon Champions?
- 231 species as of Regulation Set M-C, 264 entries counting regional and selectable forms, with 81 Mega Evolutions. The launch set had 186; each set has added more and no set has announced a removal (see the Kingambit note in the roster).
- Are there Legendary Pokémon in Pokémon Champions?
- No. No Legendary or Mythical Pokémon has been added in any regulation set so far, and no Mega Evolution of one either.
- Can two Pokémon on my team hold the same item?
- No. Every regulation set so far has an item clause: one of each item per team.
- How do I get Mega Stones in Pokémon Champions?
- 8 come free from the Mega Evolution tutorial, each season's Battle Pass gives three more (one on the free track), and the rest cost 2,000 VP each in the Frontier Shop. The Mega table above lists the source for every stone.
- Can I transfer Pokémon from HOME to Pokémon Champions?
- Yes, any species on the roster, through the Recruit menu at the Roster Ranch. EVs become Stat Points and disallowed moves must be retrained. Pokémon caught in Champions cannot go the other way.
